The characters in Wayang Kulit ( Shadow puppets )


Wayang Kulit or Shadow puppets are a traditional Indonesian arts are mainly developed in Java. Puppet originated from the word 'Ma Hyang' which means toward spiritual spirit, god, or God Almighty. There was also a puppet is a term that defines the Java language which means 'shadow', this is because viewers can also watch the puppets from behind the curtain or imagining.

Many puppet characters that exist in shadow puppet art, taken from the Mahabharata and Ramayana. Here's a little review of the characters in the puppet arts skin:
