Gamelan is a set of traditional musical instruments are typically composed of metallophones, xylophone, drums, and gongs, etc.. The term gamelan refers to the instrument or tool, which is a unified whole that is realized and sounded together.



Gamelan word itself comes from the Javanese gamel means hitting or beating, followed by an ending that makes the noun.
